Senior Lifeguard/Instructor

·        Full-time

·        Will train

·        Reporting to the Aquatic Manager & Head Lifeguard

·        Big role in providing leadership in Aquatic Centre

·        Primary role are swim lessons and program instruction for schools, supervision of the Junior staff, maintenance and custodial duties as well as taking on specific leadership tasks as directed

Required Qualifications:

·        Must be 18+ years of age

·        Must be willing to be trained as a lifeguard

·        Must be a capable swimmer

Capabilities:

·        Ability to supervise patrons and staff in the aquatic centre, ensuring rules and regulations are compiled with

·        Ability to provide superior customer service

·        A progressive learner willing to work hard on obtaining new skills

·        Other courses such as: Pool Operators, Swim and Lifesaving instructors course, Aqua Fitness etc. are assets

Salary Range:  $16.00 - $21.54 Hourly

·        Since this is a fulltime position, there will be a 6-month waiting period prior to participation in the Town benefit and pension program.

Operator

The Parks & Recreation Department is constantly seeing more growth and as such, is hiring another full time employee. Reporting to the Facilities Manager and the recreation Director, we are seeking a hard-working, hands-on individual to join our team.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·        Maintaining town-owned parks and facilities by cutting grass, planting & weeding

·        Setting up facilities for events & ensuring the facilities are clean and well maintained

·        Winter season includes shift work and working in the arenas

·        Ice re-surfacing/maintenance

·        Summer season includes both inside and outside maintenance duties

Qualifications:

·        Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

·        Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent

·        Knowledge of Parks and Arena Maintenance and Arena Operator 1 is an asset

·        General knowledge and practical experience using various pieces of equipment

·        Strong communication and work ethic

·        Ability to work independently

·        Standard First Aid and CPR is an asset

·        Additional training will be provided to the successful applicant
