Heavy Duty Mechanic

·         Full-time

·         Report to the Director of Public Works & Public Works Project Lead

·         Serving all Town Departments

 

Successful candidate will:

·         Perform preventative maintenance checks & diagnostic work on Town vehicles and equipment

·         Perform repairs and overhaul various components including; engines, brakes, transmissions, differentials, axel assembles, hydraulic controls, pumps, air compressors and electrical components such as generators/starters

·         Communicate with the Project Lead to order parts and shop materials

·         Knowledge of operating equipment and motor vehicles to test functionality and train operators in use of equipment

·         Utilize and adhere to shop maintenance procedures and information systems

·         Record & complete all administrative procedures such as inspection sheets, authorization forms, Provincial certification forms, Commercial Vehicle Inspections, time entry and service records

·         On occasion, may be required to operate equipment to perform an assigned task

 

The ideal candidate will have:

·         Class 3 Motor Vehicle Operator’s License including Air Brake Endorsement

·         Alberta Vehicle Inspection Certification – Heavy Trucks with Air Brakes

·         Certified Alberta Journeyman in the trade of Heavy Duty Mechanic, with additional Journeyman in Alberta Motor Mechanic being an asset

·         Welding experience

Director of Parks & Recreation

Town of St. Paul requires a motivated and career-minded Director of Parks and Recreation responsible for the management and supervision of the administration, programs and services of the Town of St. Paul Parks and Recreation Department and will work with partners to ensure that the sport, recreation, leisure and cultural needs and interests of Town of St. Paul residents/employees are met.

 

The Director of Parks & Recreation will work to increase community/employee participation, as well as visibility within the community/organization by raising awareness of programs and activities offered. Work duties fall under the following categories: administration; financial management; planning; program and special event coordination, human resource development; communication; and community recreation development.

 

The Parks & Recreation Director will be responsible for accomplishing department objectives and goals within guidelines established by Council and the Chief Administrative Officer.

 

Additional requirements:

·         Experience in Municipal Recreation Administration, facility operation and public relations

·         Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications

·         Preference will  be given to applicants with Arena Management certification and/or education, Playground Safety certification and/or education, Parks Management and/or education, recreational programs

·         Computer skills using Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

·         Proven planning, managing, organizational and implementation skills, as well as leadership, team and personnel development and relationship building skills

·         Knowledge of the policies, procedures, principles and practices involved in the municipal administration of community services
