the Green Thumb's Up recognizes
individuals, neighbourhoods, arms and businesses that beautify St. Paul and
area through their gardening and stewardship efforts. The awards also
raise awareness of the important role of gardening and growing locally plays
in our community and encourages others to participate. Winners of the
Green Thumb's Up may be showcased in our annual St. Paul and Area Garden
Tour. The Green Thumb's Up Garden Contest is a Community Garden
Society of St. Paul initiative designed to encourage residents to garden and
grow locally. Properties are nominated by the public and judged by a
team of master gardeners the week of July 11th. Categories include:

Fair, the day starts with a pancake breakfast, followed by a parade
and then a bench show and many activities for all ages. The day

September 17: Two Hills; Qigong and
Acupressure Class, Qigong - the 8 Silken Movements. This is
a standing exercise that takes a few minutes a day to practice and gives a
lifetime of benefits. These eight simple exercise, a subset of Qigong,
are a body, mind and spirit integrating practice. They can be done in
as little as 5 minutes without compromising the benefits of the practice, or
they can take up to 45 minutes to complete. Within the structure of
the 8 Silken Movements there is infinite flexibility to accommodate any
level of fitness or health, and as such it is a practice that can become
part of your life at any age. These exercises are known to stimulate
the meridians of chi, recharge the inner organs, and improve circulation and
posture. Class time is two and a half to three hours.
Acupressure - Neck and Shoulder Release. This class teaches a
short and effective acupressure routine designed to release tension held in
the neck and shoulders. This class will prepare you to release the
tension in your own neck and shoulders, or in the neck and shoulders of
clients, friends, and family members. The routine takes 15 to 30
minutes to use, and you will learn in it two and a half to three and a half
hours. This is located at Two Hills County Office, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00
p.m. Cost is $150/person, massage table provided.
