Foreman: Lamont
County is currently seeking a team-oriented and self-motivated individual.
Report directly to the Director of Public Works, the incumbent is responsible for the
management and supervision of the Road construction program. ·
Supervision & direction of County staff and
equipment performing earthwork construction projects. ·
Assist the Director of Public Works with the yearly
planning and budgeting for County construction/maintenance programs and equipment
including road construction, ditching shoulder pulls, dust controls, and
water drainage projects. ·
Attend Council meetings to present monthly reports and
road construction cost estimates ·
Arranging for the location of all utilities and meet
with necessary field personnel of utility companies to coordinate moves or
lowering of structures ·
Coordinating bridge repair and replacement with Alberta
Transportation and Lamont County engineer designate ·
Conducting weekly safety meetings with equipment
operators to reinforce safe working procedures ·
Minimum of 3 to 5 years direct work experience as a
Construction Foreman with management level office experience ·
Knowledge of construction and inspection, including
rural transportation networks. Experience in the preparation control and
monitoring of budgets ·
Well-developed computer skills using Microsoft Office
and GIS/GPS systems ·
Demonstrated organized and time management skills with
the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads ·
Effective interpersonal communication skills and an
ability to work in a team environment ·
Knowledgeable with safety standards and health and
safety policies ·
Competitive compensation package with an annual salary
range of $71,000.00 to $86,500.00/year. This is a year round position. This competition closes upon

Assist in the implementation, maintenance and records
management of Lamont County’s job cost data base. ·
Work independently and as a team member, have proven
listening, written and verbal communication skills. ·
Possess positive interpersonal skills when dealing with
the public and county personnel ·
Develop an in depth knowledge of Diamond Great Plains
Dynamics and Worktech systems ·
Input and maintain Worktech
data which includes obtaining correct coding and authorizations. Prepare
journal entries as required. ·
Assist in the preparation of year end files and
schedules for audit purposes ·
Ability to adhere to confidentiality when working with
sensitive information ·
Work extensively in all Microsoft applications
including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint ·
Provide back up at front counter including phones and
other clerical tasks assigned Experience
in data entry is required, accounting experience and familiarity in financial
job costing databases is an asset. Municipal experience would be an asset but
an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be
considered. Full-time salaried position – 7/day, five days a week. Salary
range $44,144.00 - $53,800.00/ year. Competitive and comprehensive benefit
