Located an hour from Downtown Edmonton, Mundare spirits you back a century to Alberta's Ukrainian roots.  These heritage links are especially evident in the Basilian Fathers Museum that depicts the settlement of Ukrainian immigrants to Canada.  The Basilian Fathers were very instrumental in settling Mundare in approximately 1902, which provides Mundare with a very rich history.

Mundare, the small town with a big heart, is located in the County of Lamont.  The town is mainly agriculture based, with other major employers being the General Hospital, School and, of course, Stawnichy's Meat Processing Plant.  Visitors from around the globe come to see the world's largest sausage (or Kubasa) which stands in the heart of Mundare at 42 feet (as seen in the background).
