Family Courtworker (Full-time): Native Counselling Services of Alberta, St. Paul. Is seeking an individual to assist clients in Family Court to explain their legal rights, options and responsibilities. Duties: The Family Courtworker will ensure clients understand processes and procedures and advocate/speak on behalf of clients; In addition to court duties, the Courtworker will act as a liaison between parents, youth, children, Children Services, and other community resources to address identified needs; Provide counseling, support and referrals to strengthen the family unit in order to eliminate the need for Children Services involvement; Provide mediation services for individuals involved within the Family Court and the Children Services systems. Qualifications: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent combination of education and work experience; Knowledge of the Family Enhancement Act and Family Court systems; Knowledge of the Alberta Criminal Justice System; Ability to interact with clients, Aboriginal community, the Justice System and community organizations; A good command of English language both verbally and written; Experience with computers; Must be able to work flexible hours with minimum supervision; A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license with $1,000,000 business insurance; Must provide a current CWIC and Criminal Record check.
